Exam Expertise
Sean’s tuition covers every element of the Leaving Cert English course, including the prescribed texts, essay writing, Reading Comprehension, unseen texts, study skills, examination preparation and technique.
Because he knows the syllabus, set texts and previous examination papers inside out, he can quickly identify where a student is losing marks or spending too much time on unproductive study. He then provides practical strategies that can save dozens, and sometimes hundreds, of hours.
For Reading Comprehension and unseen texts, Sean analyses previous questions in detail. Students learn to recognise recurring question types, understand exactly what each question requires and construct answers capable of receiving the highest marks.
At the centre of his teaching is Idea, Evidence and Explanation, the essential method for developing strong answers throughout the English examination. Once students learn to apply it properly, it can provide the foundation for achieving an H2 or higher.
